Friday Freebies – Feb. 18

This week’s roundup includes free mulch, special savings for parents and ways to watch TV shows without paying for a cable subscription. Start saving after the jump.

If the warmer weather makes you want to get out and garden, you can get some free mulch and paper lawn/leaf bags from the City of San Antonio Saturday (Feb. 19). Click here for more information.

Parents, now’s a good time to do some pre-Spring cleaning! Babies “R” Us is running its “Great Trade-In” through Feb. 21. Bring in your old kid stuff to get 25% off new stuff.

Thanks to this blog post, I learned about Amazon Mom, which offers 30% off diapers and wipes, plus special e-mail offers.

If you’re looking for some new and free music, check out these freebies.

Shoppers who frequent The Shops at La Cantera should join The Club for discounts and special promotions.

If you’ve given up cable, but still want to watch TV shows, there are a few options online.

  • Fast Pass TV – this site carries current seasons with all episodes. It even has movies available. Watch in “wisevid” format for less buffering.
  • Surf The Channel – this site has some classic shows. The only downside I’ve seen: it kicks you out for an hour after you’ve watched about 90 minutes.
  • TV-Video Net – this site has current shows. It also does not include pop-ups. The only downside: you may not find most recent episode of a show.

That’s all for this week. If you want to share a tip, send an email to nperez@ksat.com with “Friday Freebies” in the subject line.

The free lawn/leaf paper bag give away was not what we expected. They are only giving away 2 bags. Not worth the drive. I would have been nice to know that in advance. Thank you.
