Friday Freebies – Sep. 24th

This week’s roundup has some free (and nearly free) food good for SATURDAY ONLY and a few more money-saving tips.

Whataburger has a special so good it might as well be free! Saturday (September 25) you can get all you can eat pancakes for $3. Just show up between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. Proceeds benefit the San Antonio Food Bank.

From my inbox: Popeye’s is giving away one free simple chicken sandwich Saturday (September 25) between 11 a.m. and noon. Go here to find a location near you. The chain recommends you call ahead to make sure that business is participating in the giveaway. Tip: When you choose a restaurant, there are also coupons ready to print.

Sign up for Schlotzky’s emails and get special offers in your inbox.

Teachers, if you want to use Ayn Rand’s books in your classroom, go here for some free books.

Members of the military can get into the Hondo maze for free this weekend. Before you go, study this year’s picture to map your way out of it.

For the over 21 crowd: Budweiser is giving away free beer September 29th. They haven’t announced the locations ¬†yet, but if you sign up for their emails, you might be the first to know.

If you’re patient (and have a spare email account), you might want to sign up for some of the giveaways from Moviefone. Note: It’s a good idea to set up an account for contests since they can be a bit spammy.

Speaking of movies… If you like movie posters, check out these from Blockbuster. If you find something you like, just enter BVDORM30 at checkout to save 30%.

Here’s another site that will take your old electronics off your hands. MaxBack will give you credit for each item and you can trade those points for something new. You can also choose a local non-profit or school to get a fraction of the value of your goods.

That’s all for this week. If you want to share a tip, send an email to nperez@ksat.com with “Friday Freebies” in the subject line.
