Weather System Causes Flash Flooding and Deaths

The storm system that came through San Antonio and surrounding areas last week left its mark with lots of wind damage then the system came back this week with flood damage causing one death.As this storm system headed out of San Antonio and towards northeast Texas it dumped a lot of rain early Thursday morning especially northeast of Waco where there are several flood warnings for some of the rivers in the area.

This storm continued into Arkansas, it did the same thing again where at night, focused all of its energy to the core of the system and dumped heavy rain. Vipir 24/7 indicated about a foot of rain fell near the Albert Pike Recreational Area. (Click Here for Larger Image)

This is where, at last report,  16 people were killed as they camped along the river and were swept away. According to Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe, he said “the river was 3 feet at 5:30pm Thursday. It rose to around 23 feet around 5:30am Friday morning.”
