Friday Freebies – October 9th

This week, I’m in the Halloween spirit and looking for ways to play. Find out what free stuff and discounts I’ve discovered after the jump!

Hoping to save a few bucks on Halloween this year? Start with this website. It has tips to make your costume with things you might already have around the house.

If you want to do a little more giving than collecting treats on Halloween, go here to get a UNICEF party kit.

This site makes me want to be a kid all over again! Break out the Play Doh and use these ideas for inspiration. Parents, print out these pages for your kids to fill in the blank space with their doughy creations. Teachers, go here for a look at ways to use Play Doh in the classroom as a learning tool.

If you’ve taken a lot of pictures this year, why not make a calendar? Snapfish will give you 35% off when you enter the code 35ALLCAL at checkout. Click here to get started.

Pay to see “Burning the Future: Coal in America” at Alamo Draft House Thursday, Oct. 15, at 7:30. If you get there early,  you can get free CFL lightbulbs from CPS Energy, a reusable dry cleaning bag with $5 free dry cleaning from Clothesline Cleaners and an information card from EchoTown which will get you discounts at local green businesses.

Doing some cleaning? You might want to take your personal papers to Crossroads Mall Saturday (Oct. 10). It’s the Better Business Bureau’s Shred Day. Take three bags or boxes of your papers and they’ll shred them into teeny tiny pieces. The shredding starts at 9 AM and ends at 1 PM between Burlington Coat Factory and Super Target.

If you have a tip you’d like to share, send an email to nperez@ksat.com with “Friday Freebies” in the subject line.
