Friday Freebies – August 28th

There’s still plenty of free (and cheap) fun to be had in San Antonio even though the kids are back in school! See what’s out there and check out the other goodies after the jump.

Like movies and don’t mind the heat? Head downtown! Movies by Moonlight has the following lineup: September 3 – Breakfast at Tiffany’s, September 10 – Fiddler on the Roof, September 17 – Barefoot in the Park, September 24 – The Way We Were. The movies are free. Just show up in the grassy area at South Alamo and Nueva (near the Magik Theater building). You can buy concessions beginning at 7 p.m. The movies will start at 8 o’clock. Parking is free at the Alamo Street lot near HemisFair Park (note: it’s on a first come basis).

The San Antonio Museum of Art is continuing its First Sundays for Families. Kids 12 and under get in free between 1-5 p.m.. This month (September 6), check out FOTOSEPTIEMBRE, Culinary Delights: Photographs by David Halliday. Families will create and photograph desserts, paint a still life, and discover how food can be used to create art. October 4, SAMA celebrates the Hindu holiday of Diwali. November 1, Dia de Los Muertos will be celebrated. Then, on December 6, it’s the art of the missions. For more information, click here.

Parents, do a little summer cleaning. Take your used crib, car seat and select other baby products to Toys R Us or Babies R Us to save 20% on a new baby item. Here’s the official information on the promotion, which starts today and ends September 20.

Mark your calendar for September 7th. Head to Chick-fil-A wearing your favorite sports team’s apparel and get a free chicken sandwich. Find a location near you here. Until then, go here to win some free stuff from the cow-free chain.

Fellas, this one’s for you! The Art of Shaving will give you a free starter kit if you sign up for their email list.

Take your computer to Staples and get a free computer tune up.

And if you’re looking for more fun around the Alamo City, sign up with the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau to get coupons like this.
