DWTS Season 8: Double Elimination

If Gilles finds himself in the bottom of the heap this week, I will stop watching (and blogging) about this show. He was FANTASTIC Monday night! See which two couples get cut in the recap!

The judges had Gilles and Cheryl perform their Argentine Tango again. It was just as hot as it was the first time! That’s my favorite dance of the season (so far, of course).

Here’s the leaderboard:

11. Steve & Karina

10. Steve-O & Lacey

9. Holly & Dmitry

8. Lawrence & Edyta

6. David & Kym

6. Chuck & Julianne

4. Shawn & Mark

4. Ty & Chelsie

3. Lil’ Kim & Derek

2. Melissa & Tony

1. Gilles & Cheryl

The first two couples safe: Gilles & Cheryl and Lawrence & Edyta. The first couple in the bottom three: Holly & Dmitry.

Kevin Rudolf performed his hit “Let It Rock” while some of the pros danced.

So, no dance off this week? WHAT!?!? I’m disappointed! I’m hoping someone in the audience will tell me what Bruno was doing off camera!

The next couple returing: Shawn & Mark.

Next week, the couples will perform the Viennese Waltz. Louis Van Amstel choreographed six dancers to demonstrate what the couples should look like next week. Why were the chandeliers moving up and down during the dance? The other dance the couples will perform: the Paso Doble.

The next couple safe: Chuck & Julianne. The next couple in the bottom three: Steve-O & Lacey. Later, Steve-O said he’s not used to getting through high pressure situations without drugs or alcohol and he’s managed to stay clean through this, so, um, yay Steve-O?

Boyz II Men performed a medley of hits with the pros dancing. What’s interesting is that most of these hits they sang weren’t their own – they were Motown oldies!

The next two couples safe: Lil’ Kim & Derek and Melissa & Tony.

The next couples safe: Ty & Chelsie and David & Kym. That sends Steve & Karina to the bottom three.

The two couples going home tonight: Holly & Dmitry and Steve & Karina. Justice!
