TV on the Internet? Inconceivable!

Forgive this relatively short post, but it’s 2 a.m., I’ve been working on my other blog since I got home from work (some Googling of my name and “blog” will easily find it) and I haven’t slept in my own bed in almost a week thanks to SXSW and the good people of b5media. This one will be short and sweet, especially for those of you who love television.

The big news of the day was the public launch of Hulu, a service from FOX and NBC Universal to stream select episodes of their catalog of current and former shows. Hulu is also offering sports highlights and high-definition programming as well.

Lest I forget — and since we know you’d love to stay on KSAT 12 and ABC for your favorite shows — ABC also offers a similar, also-free service which will allow you to watch limited commercial interruption episodes of shows like Lost, Desperate Housewives or other ABC programming.

Now, I actually tried the HD programming from our work connection and was able to get a decent stream. I also watched in both Internet Explorer and Firefox with relatively little setup time. Give it a go and catch up on your favorite shows.

Speaking of HD programming online, here’s a brief roundup of online services which provide HD programming.

UPDATE: Hulu is also offering some full-length movies, too.
