May 8 Emilio Update

It’s bad news for Tejano singer Emilio Navaira.

Bellaire Police are asking Harris County prosecutors to pursue criminal charges against the singer, who was behind the wheel of his tour bus when it crashed on Easter Sunday.

According to this story, the singer’s blood alcohol content was 0.19 - that’s more than twice the legal limit in Texas. Because five other people were hurt when the bus crashed, Emilio is facing charges of intoxication assault. If you want to see the police report, we have it on our website here.

We’ve reported on Emilio’s previous DWI arrests in the past. These charges are much more serious. While Emilio is lucky he survived the crash, his troubles are far from over. He’s undergoing rehab in Houston. Those wounds will be a lasting reminder of the crash that nearly killed him. The new legal troubles will certainly make it hard for anyone to forget what happened on that day.
