DWTS: Mario’s Out

Just when Mario was starting to find his groove, he found himself in the red light, then getting the boot. If you missed it last night, you can watch it here. Now, here’s my recap of the elimination, the special performances and the list of the judges’ top 10 dances over the last five seasons.

If you live in the San Antonio area, you didn’t get to watch the elimination show until 12:35 – AFTER Jimmy Kimmel. Just know that I HATED having to cover up the show to report on that massive fire at OLLU (and judging by the phone calls and emails we received, you hated it, too). I got home in time to watch the show. Here was what I spotted at that hour:

Apolo Ohno and Julianne Hough did a lovely dance while Rascal Flatts performed.

Mario Lopez high kicked with “A Chorus Line.”

Mel B and Maksim did a fun dance while Rascal Flatts performed (she even did those crazy walking splits she did last season).

Previous winners made their picks. Kelly Monaco likes Kristi. Apolo likes Jason or Kristi. Drew likes Cristian.

Now to the dramatic music and the red light. Marissa and Kristi were the first two to learn they’ll be back next week. When Tom Bergeron said that Mario, Jason and Cristian were still in danger, Karina rolled her eyes (mmmmmhhhhhhhmmm – she sure did). Commercial break. Then, Tom recalled what the judges said about the three dancers and Karina rolled her eyes AGAIN. Maybe she had an idea what was coming.

Then, just before 1:35, Mario was eliminated.

Next week is the semifinals (can you believe it???). Marissa is still a weak dancer. Kristi, Jason and Cristian will likely be in the finals. We’ll find out next week which one dances his/her heart out for a chance at the prized mirror ball trophy!
