My favorite sports time of the year
So not only do we have the NCAA Tournament, but Opening Day is a week away. While I wish we were doing a bracket contest (even though I’d likely be ineligible), I still wouldn’t mind defeating you readers.
Anyway, we have our March Mania section with a printable bracket and other info to keep you busy over the next few weeks. If anything, we’re happy that you use your time at work here at KSAT.com.
In fact, some research firm said about $1.7 billion in productivity is lost this time of year because of the tournament. I don’t know where they pulled that number out, because I’m quite certain they can’t count my lost productivity considering it’s kind of my job to watch as many of the games online as possible and participate in the discussion.
One number that surprised me was that 92 percent of people who participate in office pools are men. I’ve got to think more women are participating, especially considering my last two office pools have had women dominating (and I used to work in the sports department at my last stop).
So, who’s your sleeper this year? Personally, I think Xavier could come out of the West, but UCLA will be a huge challenge for them. Post a comment and tell us what you think. Oh, and as much as I’d like to root for a Southland Conference team, I can’t. I hope Memphis destroys UT-Arlington.

Just wanted to post this Web Poll Suggestion:
The poll asks the question: Who will win the NBA Finals.
Celtics
Lakers
I believe they forgot the third choice:
Who Cares/Don’t Care
Are you with me???
