May 8 Emilio Update

It’s bad news for Tejano singer Emilio Navaira.

Bellaire Police are asking Harris County prosecutors to pursue criminal charges against the singer, who was behind the wheel of his tour bus when it crashed on Easter Sunday.

Before the primaries in North Carolina and Indiana this week, a very interesting phone call took place between a well known Clinton supporter and the Speaker of the House. The kind of phone call you sort of wish you could have overheard.

“Where’s Obama?” I didn’t know the answer. The question came from a man who was standing behind a row of metal gates with a couple hundred other people waiting for the senator to speak. It was past time. The man’s name was Tim, and he had come from work, as had many others, only to find the line to get into the American Legion Mall in downtown Indianapolis was too long, and so he chose to watch from the steps of the library nearby. “My kids are inside,” he told me. “They came after school.” That was around 3 o’clock in the afternoon, an arrival so early you might expect his kids were waiting for a rock concert to start, not hear a politician. But I had observed Obama supporters showing up early all day long.

Note To Bexar County Voters

If you’ve been told you need to vote in the May 10th election to keep the homestead, that’s just not the case. There are plenty of issues on the ballot (follow the link here). But if you don’t want to strain your eyes looking for the homestead issue on the ballot, Bexar County officials have sent us the following to explain it now.

DWTS: Man With The Golden Arm

I know, that’s Cristian dancing last week, but that’s the best I could do. Look! He’s holding Cheryl with one arm!!
